Symphonic music, opera and ballet

The Kauffman Center will showcase three outstanding resident companies: the Lyric Opera, the Kansas City Symphony and the Kansas City Ballet. In addition, the center will reach out nationally and internationally to attract the most prominent and popular artists to perform in the world-class Kauffman Center facilities. We are committed to complementing our resident companies by expanding the menu of performing arts that audiences can experience.

Pop, rock, jazz, country, gospel and more!

Interspersed within the resident companies’ seasons, the Kauffman Center will present a broad menu of other local, national and international performing arts groups in two performance halls. Programming will include dance and music of all types from pop to rock, light classical to country, from small jazz ensembles and bands, and from gospel to folk music.

Broadway, off-Broadway, lectures and conferences

The Kauffman Center will also bring in smaller Broadway and off-Broadway touring productions. And during the summer, when the resident companies are not performing, a summer series is anticipated. There will also be a wide array of lectures by national and international personalities and authorities along with ample space for conferences.
