In the diverse world of Latin music, Los Tigres del Norte are the undisputed legends of the genre. Six-time GRAMMY and six-time Latin GRAMMY-winning norteño music legends, Los Tigres del Norte have reinvented Mexican popular music with their modern take on norteño with traditional cumbia, bolero and rock rhythms. The group has sold over 32 million records, received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and are currently ranked 15th on the list “The 30 Most Influential Latin Artists of All Time” by Billboard Magazine.

With the 2014 release of their most recent #1 albumRealidades (Realities), Los Tigres del Norte have continued to proudly wear the mantle of social messengers for their community, detailing true-life stories of danger, discrimination and social rejection often faced by both Mexican and Mexican-American fans on either side of the border.

Béla Fleck & The Flecktones | June 14th

Béla Fleck & The Flecktones

Tuesday, June 14, 2016 | 7:30 PM

Muriel Kauffman Theatre

Groundbreaking banjoist/composer/bandleader Béla Fleck has reconvened the original ‘Béla Fleck & The Flecktones’, the extraordinary initial line-up of his incredible combo. They will perform on Tuesday, June 14th in Muriel Kauffman Theatre. Tickets range from $29 to $59.

Rocket Science marks the first recording by the first fab four Flecktones in almost two decades, with pianist/harmonica player Howard Levy back in the fold alongside Fleck, bassist Victor Wooten, and percussionist/drumitarist Roy “Futureman” Wooten. Far from being a wistful trip back in time, the album sees the GRAMMY Award-winning quartet creating some of the most forward thinking music of their long, storied career.

While all manners of genres come into play – from classical and jazz to bluegrass and African music to electric blues and Eastern European folk dances – the result is an impossible to pigeonhole sound all their own, a meeting of musical minds that remains, as ever, utterly indescribable. Simply put, it is The Flecktones, the music made only when these four individuals come together.

Brian Wilson | July 20th

Brian Wilson Performs Pet Sounds

Wednesday, July 20 | 7:30 PM
Muriel Kauffman Theatre

Brian Wilson is one of popular music’s most deeply revered figures, a legendary writer, producer, arranger and performer of some of the most cherished music in pop music history. He will perform in Muriel Kauffman Theatre on July 20, 2016 at 7:30 pm.

Brian Wilson - Approved Picture 2015

For more than half a century, fans have marveled at the sheer beauty of the music that springs forth from his imagination into glorious song. Wilson brings this ingenious vision to his own compositions, as well as to those for which he has collaborated, weaving a lush, vibrant tapestry of intricately nuanced vocal harmonies and instrumental arrangements for himself, his bandmates and others.

Wilson began his career as a teenaged founding member of The Beach Boys, who signed with Capitol Records in July 1962 and released their first album, Surfin’ Safari, that same year. The band’s initial surf-rock focus was soon broadened to include other themes. Wilson’s innovative vocal and instrumental arrangements for major hits including “I Get Around,” “California Girls,” “Wouldn’t It Be Nice,” “God Only Knows” and the No. 1 smash “Good Vibrations” made The Beach Boys America’s preeminent band of the 1960s.

Brian Wilson is a Kennedy Center Honors recipient, a Songwriters Hall of Fame inductee, and a U.K. Music Hall of Fame inductee.  As a member of The Beach Boys, Wilson was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1988 and honored with The Recording Academy’s Lifetime Achievement Award in 2001.
