Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts Virtual Trivia Contest Rules

No purchase necessary to enter or win, nor will a purchase improve one’s chance of winning. Subject to federal, state, local and municipal laws and regulations. Void where prohibited.

How to enter:

For a chance to win one of three prizes, you must participate in the online trivia contest hosted by the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts through the Zoom and Quizizz platforms. The contest will begin at 6 p.m. on Thursday, March 25, 2021. All entries will be closed at the conclusion of the trivia contest. More information about the contest will be provided to registrants via email.

Entrants who register for the trivia contest on this web page will be emailed a complimentary gift from Mildred’s Coffeehouse. By registering, you may opt-in to receive emails from the Kauffman Center with news, special offers and promotions. You can unsubscribe at any time. See our privacy policy for more information.

A valid email address must be provided to the Kauffman Center and Quizizz when the trivia contest starts. The email address will be used to contact you if you are one of the three winners. Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts will contact the top three winners no later than 5 p.m. on Friday, March 26, 2021. The winners will be notified via email.

Eligibility:

Trivia contest entrants must be eighteen (18) years of age or older and be a legal resident of one of the fifty United States or Washington, D.C. Contest is not open to any individual if they, their parent, sibling or any member of their household is an employee of Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts.

If a winner is disqualified, Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts reserves the right to determine an alternate winner or not to award that winner’s prize at all. Prizes cannot be redeemed for cash or substituted for any other item(s) by the winner. Prizes are non-assignable and non-transferrable. Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts reserves the right to substitute a comparable prize of equal or greater value, including cash, for any prize, for any reason.  All costs, including but not limited to federal and local state tax costs, if and when applicable, are the sole responsibility of the winner. You are not a winner until you have been notified as a potential winner, your eligibility has been verified, and you have complied with all terms of these rules.

First Place: One Charlie Hustle Kauffman Center KC heart T-shirt
Second Place: $25 Buffalo State Pizza Co. e-gift certificate
Third Place: Mildred’s Coffeehouse $15 gift card and bag of whole-bean coffee

Winners will be contacted via email. The prize for first place will be emailed to the winner. Prizes for second and third place will be picked up by the winner at a metro-location.

Prizes are non-assignable and nontransferable. No substitutions allowed by winner. Prizes not won and claimed by eligible winners in accordance with these Official Rules will not be awarded and will remain the property of Sponsor.

Publicity release:

By entering, each entrant acknowledges that his/her entry in the Trivia Contest constitutes the entrant’s consent to use, publish, reproduce and for all purposes, including publicity, promotion and advertising, in any media (including, without limitation, the Internet, television of offline promotions), each winner’s name, voice, likeness, photograph, opinions, and or hometown and state, and any portion thereof, each extending throughout the universe and in perpetuity without further compensation, credit, or right of review or approval, except where prohibited by law.

Disclaimer:

If this contest is not capable of being held as planned, including, but not limited to any infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failure or other cause beyond Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts’ control which corrupts or threatens to corrupt or adversely affects the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the contest, Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel, suspend and/or modify this contest.

Limitation on Liability:

Winner, by acceptance of the prize, (a) agrees to the Official Rules and decisions of Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts, and (b) releases Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts and its officers, directors, employees, and agents (collectively, the “Released Parties”) from any and all liability, claims or actions of any kind whatsoever for injuries, damages or losses to persons and property which may be sustained in connection with the receipt, ownership or use of the prize or while traveling to and from a location to obtain or use the prize. The Released Parties do not make any warranty, representation, or guarantee, express or implied, in fact or in law, relative to the use of the prize including, without limitation, quality, merchantability, safety, or fitness for a particular purpose. The Released Parties are not responsible for technical, hardware, software or telephone malfunctions of any kind, lost or unavailable network connections, or failed, incorrect, incomplete, inaccurate, garbled or delayed electronic communications caused by Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts or the user or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in this contest or by any human error which may occur in the processing of the entries in this contest and which may limit a participant’s ability to participate in this contest. In consideration for his/her participation in the Contest, each entrant agrees to hold harmless and indemnify the Released Parties from any and all claims, demands, or causes of action of any nature or kind whatsoever, whether presently known or unknown, foreseen or unforeseen, that arise out of entrant’s participation in the Contest, including attorney’s fees.

Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts can modify these official rules in any way or at any time, as long as Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts gives reasonable notice. In the event of a dispute concerning who submitted an electronic form entry, the entry will be declared to have been by the authorized account holder of the email address submitted at time of entry. An authorized account holder is defined as the natural person who is assigned to an email address by an Internet access provider, online service provider, or other organization (e.g. business, educational institution, etc.) that is responsible for assigning e-mail addresses for the domain associated with the submitted email address.
