Kauffman Center Internship Program

Backs TogetherAs an extension of the Open Doors Spotlight on Youth initiative, the Kauffman Center has developed an internship program for rising arts and non-profit professionals. The Kauffman Center is dedicated to creating opportunities for young professionals and students to grow their career skills and make lasting connections in the thriving Kansas City arts community. Currently enrolled college students or recently graduated professionals are encouraged to apply for Kauffman Center internship opportunities. Kauffman Center interns receive hands-on experience in various aspects of non-profit arts management as well as networking opportunities, professional development, and career mentorship. Internships are regularly available in the following areas: Marketing/PR, Special Events, Patron Services/Volunteer Management, Facilities Management, Theater Production, and Development/Fundraising.

Spring 2018 internship applications are due on Friday, November 17th!  

Application Info: All available internships are posted regularly on the Kauffman Center’s website. Applicants can submit their resume and cover letter to the contact specified on the internship posting, and a Kauffman Center representative will follow-up no more than two weeks after the application deadline. If interested in being considered for more than one internship, please specify that in accompanying cover letter.

Recommended Participant Ages: College sophomores, juniors, seniors, or recent college graduates.

Duration: Typically 3-4 months during the fall and spring semesters with occasional summer internships as well.

Compensation: Unpaid, but college credit can be arranged.
