Sound Bath Etiquette, Notes & Contraindications

Sound Bath Session Etiquette:

• Arrive at the Kauffman Center at least 15 minutes before your session to allow plenty of time to select your spot and settle in.
• Prior to the sound bath experience, turn off or silence cell phones and other devices that could make noise.
• Falling asleep during a sound bath is common. If you fall asleep and happen to remain asleep into the conclusion of the session, the practitioner may gently touch your feet, shoulders/back to wake you.

Important Notes & Contraindications:

• It is highly recommended to be well-hydrated (with water) before and after sound bath sessions.
• Drinking alcoholic beverages is not advised before or after a sound bath.
• Sound healing/sound baths are not recommended during the first trimester of pregnancy.
• Sound healing/sound baths are not recommended for those with sound-induced epilepsy.
• Sound healing/sound baths are not recommended for those who have a history of severe depression, psychosis and other serious mental health challenges.
• Individual experiences may vary.
